What is the Climb Higher Summit?

Earning a degree has never been more important than now. High school graduation is no longer a sufficient path leading to a good paying job. More and more jobs are requiring college degrees now.

The Climb Higher Summit is a half day event that is designed to help working professionals (all government and private sector employees, and all those who have delayed attending college) and other community members obtain a higher salary, qualify for job promotions, or find better jobs by earning a college degree.

The free event will provide students with the information they need to earn their degrees through the availability of flexible class schedules, more financial aid options, and other resources that are specifically designed for individuals who are trying to balance work, family, and personal commitments.

There's no doubt a college degree can lead to higher salaries, more job prospects, better opportunities for promotions, and more marketable job skills. In fact, according to national statistics, the average income for those with a bachelor's degree is $45,000, while the average was $30,000 for those with a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Who should attend?

Government employees, private sector employees, and all other community members are encouraged to attend, especially those who are balancing jobs, budgets, and parenting but still want to advance their personal lives and their professional careers by earning a college degree.

What will be discussed?

The FREE Climb Higher Summit will be filled with information like finding money to pay for college, degree and short-term non-degree program offerings (like grant writing, dental assistant training, medical billing and coding, and more), the admissions process, flexible class schedules for those working full time, online degree options, and more. For a copy of the agenda, click here. Attending the Summit will also qualify participants for a fee waiver.

When and where will it be? How much does it cost?

The Climb Higher Summit will be held from 8:00am to 12:00pm on October 5, 2012 at the Pacific Islands Club's Charley's Cabaret. Registration for the Summit is FREE.
