EC 211 - Principles of Macroeconomics
3 credits. This is a principles course in macroeconomics. The course covers laws, principles, theories, problems and policies in macroeconomics. This course will enable the student to master the principles essential for understanding the economizing problem, specific economic issues, and economic policy alternatives. It will also enable the student to understand and apply the economic perspective and reason accurately and objectively about economic matters. Prerequisites: EN 101, MA 132, CS 103 or instructor approval. English Placement Level: EN 202.
EC 212 - Principles of Microeconomics
3 credits. This course analyzes the structure and functioning of the free enterprise economy as it relates to the individual consumer, business firms, and industries. The student is introduced to the concept of monetary policy and Keynesian fiscal policy. Application of economic theories to real-world economic and social issues is emphasized. Prerequisite: EC 211. English Placement Level: EN 202.
