Nursing
Welcome to the Nursing Department
The mission of NMC's Nursing Department is to provide career guidance and
education in nursing to those students of the CNMI and the Pacific Basin
who desire to become Nursing Assistants or Registered Nurses. To accomplish
this commitment, the Department offers a Certificate of Completion for Nursing
Assistants (NA) and an Associate in Science degree in Nursing (ADN). At the
completion of the ADN program, the graduate is eligible for the National
Computerized Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), which
leads to a Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth and makes the
student eligible for licensure in any US state or territory.
There are three good reasons to become a nurse:
- The respect the profession has earned over the years.
Nursing is listed in several surveys as the number one profession respected
- It is a profession that has a great need at this
time for more caring professionals. The number of available nurses declined
in the 1990's
- It is a job with multiple choices of work times. Nurses are required
clock around every day of the year. If you have a young family you might
chose to work evenings and nights while your spouse works days and takes
care of the children while you work.
