Fee Waivers for Participants at NMC's Cash for College Workshop (Saturday, June 25)

Individuals who participate in the Northern Marianas College and the College Access Challenge Project’s FREE “Cash for College” workshop will qualify to receive fee waivers for the NMC admission application and placement tests for the upcoming Fall 2011 semester. The workshop is aimed at assisting students and their parents in maximizing scholarship opportunities that are available to students seeking to obtain a college education. The workshop is on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the NMC As Terlaje campus in Building A. The workshop will be an ongoing session, so participants can stop by anytime between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Revilla is New NMC Staff Senate President

Northern Marianas College support staffers have selected new officers who will give voice to their concerns to the management and Board of Regents. Dawn Chrystal Revilla, the institution's budget officer, was elected as the group's new president, replacing Clarice Arriola. Revilla will now serve as an honorary non-voting member of the Board of Regents. Also elected with Revilla were Community Development Institute's Floyd Masga, who was selected vice president, and Christina Cruz, from the finance office, as secretary and treasurer. “The support staff are an integral part of ensuring continued and smooth operations at the college; and we continue to emphasize and recognize the importance of our collective roles,” said Revilla, adding that it is the support staff's services that ensure that classes can run and that students and employees are adequately supported...(Click here to view the Saipan Tribune article)

NMC Offers NCLEX Preparatory Class for Future Nurses (Must Register by Today)

The CNMI Area Health Education Center (AHEC), through the Northern Marianas College Community Development Institute (CDI), is sponsoring a preparatory class for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurses. To become a licensed registered nurse, candidates in the CNMI and in the U.S. must first pass the NCLEX. To qualify to register for this course, participants must have at least an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. To register for this course, applicants must register by Friday, June 24, 2011. This NCLEX preparatory course will run from June 27 to August 22, 2011 at the NMC As Terlaje campus (room will be announced later). The schedule for the course is 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturdays for a total of 60 hours...(Click here to view complete text)

Deadline Nears for NMC-CREES Summer Internships

The Northern Marianas College’s Cooperative Research Extension and Education Service (NMC-CREES) is encouraging incoming high school juniors and seniors for school year 2011/12 to apply for its summer internship program. The internship will take place from July 18 to August 19, 2011. As part of the internship program, students will explore and learn about the fields of agriculture and family sciences. NMC-CREES has different divisions including Aquaculture, Entomology, Plant Pathology, and Food Science.
